Dating in Fields of Mistria starts at the 8-heart event and runs until you craft an Engagement Ring and propose. You can date several candidates at once. You can marry only one. This guide covers confession, Date Inspiration items, weekend invites, Bathhouse pricing, and the 1.0.3 festival/wedding collisions that ruin a planned Saturday.

How to start dating
Raise hearts with one talk and one gift per day. See events at 2, 4, 6, and 8. At 8 hearts you receive mail pointing to a meeting. In that scene you must confess (pink heart option) to enter the dating state.
Choosing best friends is permanent for that candidate — you cannot confess later. If you want marriage, confess. If you want a platonic run, pick best friends on purpose.
The next morning Elsie visits with a dating tutorial. She explains weekend dates and typically grants starter Date Inspiration items (often an Inn meal unlock).
1.0 lets you kiss while dating, engaged, or married.
Weekend date rules
- Dates only fire on Saturday and Sunday.
- One date per partner per weekend.
- If you date two people, you can take A on Saturday and B on Sunday.
- Walk up and use the same confirm used for gifting to Invite On Date, then pick an unlocked type.
- Each date is a short scene (not a full heart event) and rewards a photo plus a small item (often a meal).
A Date Available prompt can appear on the calendar transition. Photos hang in the farmhouse. There is no retake. Weather and time of day affect the shot — 1.0.3 stops Wedding Day photos from forcing rain and restores Bathhouse NPCs and date portraits.

Use (hold interact) an inspiration item to unlock the location. Duplicates cannot be sold; use them anyway.

Caldarus Bathhouse dates before the main story ends use a Deep Woods pool instead of the town bath.
Wheedle’s soap is a late luxury. Fund it with best money crops and Saturday shopping after the plaza.
Festival dates versus wedding days
Shooting Star (Summer 28) needs 4 hearts and was softlocked on launch — fixed in 1.0.2. 1.0.3 stops NPCs from scolding a “missed” Shooting Star date if you talk after midnight on Summer 28.
Harvest Festival dance invites: 1.0.3 blocks inviting a spouse who is not on the festival grounds, and fixes spouse-at-festival crashes.
Do not schedule a wedding on Spring 14, Fall 7, or Winter 7 — festival setup days, blocked in 1.0.3. Fall 7 is also the Queen Berry plant deadline. Full calendar: festivals.
Dating multiple people, then marrying one
You can raise and date the whole roster. Engagement is the commitment cliff. Optional 1.0 settings during the engagement tutorial can hide break-up letters or disable dating → best-friends conversions — toggle them before you confirm engagement.
March no longer uses another NPC’s engagement congratulations line (1.0.3).
Practical weekly loop
- Weekdays: talk, gift, mine for gem-cutting inspiration, fish for seashells, dig the east road.
- Friday: Inn night catch-up; cook loved meals — cooking guide.
- Saturday: market (Wheedle / Zorel / Stillwell) or a date — you rarely do both well in one morning.
- Sunday: second date if you are multi-dating.
Mounts help you reach date spots; do not start dialogue while running on a mount until you are on 1.0.3 (crash fix).
